Although I am very much a woman, there are some items of ladies clothes that I’ve never had a happy friendship with. Jeans, t-shirts and tops I can deal with and would even say I look half decent in but when it comes to ladies skirts and ladies shoes I just can’t seem to get it right.
Let’s take the skirts. Unless it’s a denim one, which I sort of class as a type of jeans, then I feel like I’m wearing my Mum’s clothes. There is something so grown up about skirts that makes me feel uncomfortable and I just wish I was in my jeans.
This makes for a rather boring and predictable wardrobe!
Maybe I need to start taking some chances, mixing it up a bit and push myself a bit. I aways like the look of ladies fashion skirts but assume that I’ll look awful in them so don’t give them a go. Maybe my new resolution should be to experiment with fashion!
Shoes are just as bad – sandals in summer and boots in winter are the equivalent of jeans for my feet. As I’m no good at heels I automatically write off any style with the slightest hint of height. Again, I must start taking notes on what flat styles some of the celebrities are wearing.
It’s so easy to get stuck in a rut, assume you know what suits you and just stick with that but we should all remind ourselves regularly that’s it’s good to experiment once in a while – I mean, what’s the worst that could happen, right?! Check French Connection for more information
